Try something new this spring with an in-person professional learning course with ASPDP!

This semester we are offering a number of exciting courses that are taking place around the city across four boroughs. Check out a sample of our spring in-person courses below:

  • Creative Infusion: Art & Reuse in the Classroom [P01.079.1S17] - Learn tools for arts integration across the curriculum within various subject areas, learning styles, and ability levels relevant to their classroom. Queens - Register by February 10

  • Making Room for Student Voice in the Classroom ( Section 1 or Section 2 ) – In this course you will gain specific tools for curriculum design, classroom meetings and critical observation that increase student voice, motivation, and cooperation in the classroom. Brooklyn - Register by February 25 (Section 1) or April 15 (Section 2)

  • Making the Personal Historical – Oral Histories in the Classroom [P01.142.1S17] – Learn the skills to conduct complete oral history projects in your own classroom. Using exhibits at the Intrepid Museum, you will develop competencies in questioning skills, interpreting facts gathered from anecdotal evidence, understanding bias, synthesizing a complete picture of an historical event from multiple perspectives, and identifying fact vs opinion. Manhattan – Register by March 3

  • Helping S.T.E.M. Take Root [P01.075.1S17] – Bring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) to your students through a project based framework. In this course you will engage in several local projects focusing on water systems while learning about local organization and resources to support instruction. Bronx - Register by April 9
