P241-8109.1M19 - Building a culture of belonging through discussion and shared inquiry (VTS for PreK - 12)

Course Details
Course Description:

Teachers know their 21st century classrooms must function on multiple levels - they must support social-emotional intelligence alongside cognitive capabilities and academic acumen, and cultivate flexible thinkers that can collaboratively problem-solve with others. Our course trains teachers in a beloved, research-backed discussion facilitation method called Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS), which is an arts- and inquiry-based approach to building a 'belonging classroom'. With VTS, teachers have a go-to method for embedding emotional, interpersonal, and cognitive skill-building within an academically-rigorous, social learning experience.

Our 8-week online course equips teachers with everything they need to immediately implement VTS in their PreK-12 classrooms. Even though course takers can enroll as individuals, we encourage them to enroll as a team so that they may practice, reflect, and learn alongside peers.
