P239-8065.1M19 - Authenticity in the Classroom: An Introduction to Authenticity Based Social-Emotional Learning

Course Details
Course Description:

In order to grow into engaged, productive adults, children must have the opportunity and the support to develop their authentic selves. This series of hands-on sessions will demonstrate lessons, routines, and discussion techniques that foster a culture of authenticity and demonstrate how existing curriculum can support social-emotional learning. When educators develop a culture of authenticity in their classroom, they help students build the emotional competence, confidence, and social skills that allow them to thrive both academically and socially. Participants will walk away with an implementation plan for bringing authenticity based social-emotional learning into their classroom or school community. The Guild supports children in becoming emotionally intelligent, socially engaged, and productive citizens of the world through creativity-education programs that help them transcend limiting expectations and build emotional competence, confidence, and social skills. Over the past eight years, the Guild has helped thousands of children and hundreds of educators transcend limiting expectations and explore and develop their authentic selves through creativity education. We are partnering with educators to ignite a new movement to bring authenticity-based social-emotional learning to school communities across the country.
