P229-7523.1F18 - The Culturally Responsive Classroom
The Culturally Responsive Classroom (CRC) addresses the important teaching practices of communication with diverse families, equity, and confronting bias and discrimination-- including as they relate to bullying. Participants will confront their own discomfort with issues of discrimination and will consider how to address incidents of discrimination and bias and to mediate student-to-student relationships.
[The companion course, A Pedagogy of Cultural Competence (PCC), is grounded in the understanding that learning is influenced by the interaction of Culture, Language, and Cognition. It focuses on helping teachers fine-tune teaching strategies and communication techniques in order to meet the needs of diverse learners and their families.]
