Course Description: “Integrating Music in Classroom Management and Instruction” provides participants with a clearer, deeper understanding of music and how it can enhance classroom teaching and learning in a special, culturally-responsive way. The course makes a case for arts integration in general and music integration in particular, and how engagement with music cultivates 21st-century learning and readiness. Participants will learn about the benefits of music to brain development and socioemotional learning, listening skills and learning culture, and student behavior and classroom management. They will also consider music’s potential for communication and collaboration across diverse cultures as well as practical ways in which music can enrich core academic subjects. Material supports online, blended, and traditional classroom settings. |
