Course Description: This live, hands-on virtual workshop—which spans four online sessions December 4th, 5th,11th, 12th (9am to 2pm) - will explore the role that authenticity plays in creating classroom environments where all students feel welcomed, valued, and able to learn. Participants will engage with lessons, routines, and discussion techniques that they can bring back to their classrooms. Topics include: Centering student voice. Nurturing authenticity. Supporting differentiated learning. Reflecting on their own identities as well as the identities of their students. Affirming the wide range of experiences students bring to the classroom particularly black, indigenous, and students of color. At the end of this workshop, participants and facilitators will co-design specific processes for each participant’s individual work and help them build a plan for implementation. |
